Reasons to Take Supplements or Why Supplements ?


We hear that if you eat healthy and well balanced food you don't need supplements but can you really be sure  you get all the necessary nutrients to support your everyday life from the food you consume ? we all are different and our lives change from day to day and that all changes the need for nutrients in our bodies.

 A balanced diet is the best way to stay healthy but under the best of circumstances it can be difficult to get all the nutrients you need from the food you eat so by taking supplements we actually fill the nutritional gaps in our diets .


When you walk in a grocery store you will find foods that have added vitamins and minerals like cereals dairy products fats and oils infant formulas according to the World Health Organization. Food fortification is the practice of deliberately increasing content of essential micro nutrients in a food to improve the nutritional quality and provide a public health benefit with minimal risk to health so even here we are talking about supplementation but on a societal level supplementation also gives us access to certain herbs and botanical with long known health benefits especially.


If these plants don't grow where we live nutrition shows that about seventy percent of us a population uses some form of dietary supplements and that numerous health care professionals recommend supplements to their patients recommend supplements to their patients use of appropriate dietary supplements promotes general wellness healthy aging and can prevent development of many age-related diseases.
